As of October 1, portions of OFM are now part of the new Washington Department of Enterprise Services
Beginning October 1, several functions of OFM were moved to the new Washington Department of Enterprise Services (DES). This includes Information Services, Risk Management, Contracts and Small Agency Client Services.
OFM will continue to oversee budget, policy, forecasting and labor relations, and add human resource policy and state IT policy, planning and oversight to its portfolio. This change is part of the consolidation of all or portions of five central-service agencies: the departments of General Administration, Printing, Information Services, Personnel and OFM.
What will change October 1?
- The interim DES website, www.des.wa.gov and DES Employee Intranet will be available. DES.wa.gov will act as a portal directing customers to existing websites while the permanent agency website is created.
- The Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of the State Human Resources Director and Consolidated Technology Services will also become effective.
- Staff from several OFM divisions — Information Services, Risk Management, Contracts and Small Agency Client Services — will be DES employees. These employees will also be located at the DES headquarters at 1500 Jefferson Street, Olympia, and have a new mailstop.
- Staff will have new phone numbers (old phone numbers currently forward to their new numbers) and emails ending with @des.wa.gov. However, if you use their OFM email address, your email will automatically re-route itself to their new DES email.
