Get contract training

State agencies require agency employees responsible for executing or managing personal service contracts and client service contracts to complete the training course to the satisfaction of DES.

Beginning January 1, 2004, no agency employee may execute or manage personal service contracts or client service contracts unless the employee has completed the training course.  (RCW 39.29.120)

The following information pertains to the staff who manage (handle the day-to-day activities of the contract) or sign personal service or client service contracts. This list should help guide you toward making the correct training choices according to your contracting responsibilities.

Agencies approved to teach their own contract training courses

The following agencies have been approved by OFM to teach their own contract training courses which meet the contracts training requirements in RCW 39.29.120:

If your agency is one listed above, please contact your contracts office for further information. If your agency would like to get approved to teach contracts training, please contact DES Enterprise Contracts at 360-407-8141 or email. Effective October 1, 2011, DES will grant training approvals.
