Update to State Data Center Business Plan and Migration Schedule

Data Collection Underway for Business Plan and Migration Schedule
The OCIO is tasked with updating the 2010 OFM/Excipio business plan and migration schedule for moving all state agencies into the new State Data Center. One important component of this process is individual data collection from targeted agencies. This data feeds an analysis model that shows the results (agency and state) of migrating to the State Data Center under a variety of assumptions. This allows better, more efficient scheduling for the migration, as well as comprehensive input from agencies.

The data collection effort occurs November 3 – 17, and includes 21 state agencies in Thurston County which were part of the original 2010 plan. These agencies will receive a template which has been pre-populated with data from the recent Total Cost of Ownership study, GMAP and other data, which should reduce the amount of work necessary for agencies to complete their form. Completed templates are due to the OCIO on November 17, 2011.

Timeline:
November 3 – 17 Data collection
November 15 – December 16 Stakeholder input
November 18 – December 16 Analysis
December 21 Preliminary report issued
