Project Management Framework

This site provides valuable tools and tips for ensuring successful Portfolio Investments.
The framework is intended to:

What exactly is a project management framework (PMF)?

The framework fulfills the function of a virtual project management office for Washington state. It allows project managers to review a checklist of best practice items and choose those that are appropriate for their type of project, is based on project life cycles, and developed in an iterative process. The website will remain dynamic, with tools and examples being added indefinitely.

You can find an outline of the framework's structure in the navigation to the right on this website. Each element of the respective phases contains general information on that particular best practice and how to use it.

Would you like to comment or contribute to the framework?

The PMF is the creation of Project Managers and CIOs from multiple Washington state agencies, and is designed for use by Washington agencies in managing public sector IT projects, The intent is that the PMF function as a guideline and tool and is not intended as a requirement for project management. The intent is to make the PMF so helpful that agencies will want to use it and contribute to it. If your agency has good examples-for any portion of the framework-that you are willing to share, please send them to:
