Policy Changes

988 Call Centers

Funding is provided for increased staffing levels to meet the statutorily required 90% in-state answer rate for the 988 Lifeline due to growth in call volumes and the increase in calls after the national LGBTQ+ line was shut down. Administrative Reduction

Birth Equity Project

Increased expenditure authority is provided for the Birth Equity Project grant award to provide parenting and birth support including doula care, lactation support, workforce training, and childbirth education to Washingtons Black/African American, African Immigrant, and American Indian/Alaska Native families.
