What is a supplemental budget?

Although Washington enacts budgets on a two-year cycle, the state can make changes with the supplemental budget. Funding adjustments in the supplemental budget are based on our state’s changing needs. Learn more about the Washington state budget process.

The state budget affects us all. It allocates funding for public schools, building and maintaining roads, health care services, supporting public safety, and more. This budget helps us make decisions about how to spend public funds to meet the needs of our communities and plan for the future.
