Modernize Lab and Training Facility

30000043

The Department of Labor and Industries industrial hygiene lab is located in an old, outdated facility. There is inefficient circulation in the lab to support handling of hazardous materials such as asbestos, acids and toxic gases. There are also failed electrical and water systems, and there is limited training space. This project will design and construct a modern lab and training center, which will enhance workplace safety. The facility will be comprised of five labs, two of which will be occupied by the Department of Labor and Industries. The remaining three labs may be leased to the Department of Agriculture, which participated with the Department of Labor and Industries in the predesign.
