Washington Veterans Home: Bldg 6 & 7 Demo and Grounds Improvement
30000002
Buildings 6 and 7 at the Washington Veterans Home in Port Orchard were decommissioned 13 years ago after a significant mold problem was found and with exception to basic fire safety, have not been maintained due to their unsuitability. The buildings are deteriorating and contain asbestos. This project will demolish and remove buildings 6 and 7. This presents the opportunity to use the existing footprint of buildings 6 and 7 once they are demolished.

WVH HVAC Retrofit
40000006
The skilled nursing building at the Washington Veterans Home was designed with a passive cooling system, which has been found to have limited effectiveness during hot summer months. The skilled nursing building is overly warm and the issue is made worse during wildfire season when air quality is poor and residents cannot open their windows. This project will retrofit an HVAC system to effectively cool the skilled nursing building at the Washington Veterans Home.
