Washington State University Vancouver - Life Sciences Building

30000840

WSU Vancouver is over capacity for general science instructional labs and is challenged to accommodate growth. Without additional general science labs, many undergraduate students will be unable to register for chemistry, biology or other classes requiring wet labs, preventing fulfillment of general degree requirements for all majors. Funding is provided to design a new instructional facility that will serve basic, translational, applied and clinical health programs together in one location on campus, including Nursing, Neuroscience, Psychology, Molecular Biology and Medical Education.

Washington State University Tri-Cities - Academic Building

30001190

Facilities at WSU Tri-Cities are inadequate to accommodate underclass students on campus. The university currently leases several off campus spaces for classrooms and class laboratories, which is inefficient and costly. Funding is provided to construct the WSU Tri-Cities Academic Building on campus to provide modern, right-sized STEM teaching laboratory space for first and second year students. Reappropriation funding is also included.

Global Animal Health Building

30001322

This project will construct Phase II of the Global Animal Health Building that will directly adjoin the Phase I building completed in 2013. Phase II construction will house the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (WADDL) and the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health Disease Detection and Surveillance program. The project will replace 40-year-old WADDL facilities in Bustad Hall, which are repeatedly cited as accreditation deficiencies by the Association of American Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians. Reappropriation funding is also included.

Washington State University Pullman - STEM Teaching Labs

30001326

Funding is provided to update laboratory space for high-demand STEM degrees and increase programmatic options in Eastlick Hall where teaching labs have not been upgraded significantly in the past 40 years. The project will enable improvements for departmental learning spaces, extend the useful life of one of the core science facilities on the Pullman campus and enable WSU to meet student demand for STEM courses.
