Fort Casey - Lighthouse Historic Preservation

Fort Simcoe - Historic Officers Quarters Renovation

Fort Simcoe is the most intact pre-civil war federal military fort west of the Mississippi River. Delaying this work could result in putting the structural integrity of these historic buildings in jeopardy. This project completes the renovation of two historic buildings. Willapa Hills Trail Develop Safe Multi-Use Trail Crossing at SR 6

State Parks purchased the 56-mile historic Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail right-of-way between Chehalis and Raymond in 1993. Over the past 25-years, it has been progressively converted to a nonmotorized recreation trail - the Willapa Hills Trail. Between Chehalis and Adna, there remains one location where the trail crosses State Route 6 at grade. This creates a dangerous situation to both trail users and highway motorists because of limited sight-distances on a curved segment of the highway. This project solves the safety problem by constructing a pedestrian overpass for trail users over State Route 6. Reappropriation funding is also included.

Schafer Relocate Campground

Annual flooding to the campground at Schafer State Park forces the park to close seasonally. Clean Vessel Boating Pump-Out Grants

Parkland Acquisition

Palouse Falls Day Use Area Renovation

Fort Worden Replace Failing Water Lines

This phased project replaces the failing water system at Fort Worden State Park. Much of the water system at Fort Worden State Park was constructed at the turn of the previous century. The park experiences frequent water line breaks that interrupt service to park tenants and visitors. The system is deteriorating and must be replaced to maintain safe, reliable water service to the park. The new system will meet Department of Health's standards and health codes, and the practical demands of water pressure for visitors and park staff. Reappropriation funding is also included.

Steptoe Butte Road Improvements

The existing road, over four miles in length, is in extremely poor condition with failing surface, subgrade and guardrail. Fort Worden Historic Building Roof Replacements

Sun Lakes - Dry Falls Visitor's Center Renovation

The Sun Lakes State Park Dry Falls Visitor’s Center is an interpretive center to educate visitors regarding the historic massive floods that carved and formed much of Eastern Washington. It is a premier site in the multi-state Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail. The center has a number of deficiencies to be repaired, renovated or replaced to meet current codes, safety requirements and operational efficiencies. Funding is provided for design and permitting to renovate the visitor's center area. Immediate repair to a failing rock wall that is restricting public use is also funded in this phase.

Pearrygin Lake Consolidated Park Access
