HR Lunch & Learn – FY2025 HR Management Report
The annual Executive Branch HR Management Report is a comprehensive analysis of key workforce focus areas within Washington state government’s executive branch. This report highlights key trends and developments from the previous fiscal year.
Purpose of the HR Management Report:
- Facilitate awareness and engagement to foster strategic collaboration
- Identify strategic alignment of HR activities and workforce initiatives
- Evaluate workplace culture insights on workplace culture and improvement
- Highlight HR’s impact on overall business success
Presentation Highlights:
This presentation will provide an overview of the state government workforce landscape and a deep dive into the key workforce management topics from the FY 2025 HR Management Roll-up Report – including workforce management drivers, constraints and opportunities across the enterprise. It’ll also introduce the new Workforce Management Maturity Assessment Model and highlight how enterprise workforce efforts align with Governor’s strategic priorities.
About the Speaker:
ShiauYun Wang is a Workforce Research and Policy Analyst at the Office of Financial Management State Human Resources. She is also the project manager for the annual statewide HR Management Report. ShiauYun received her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a focus on public policy analysis and public program evaluation. She also obtained a project management certification from the South Puget Sound Community College. Her professional passion is to help organizations achieve their missions by identifying and bridging gaps with diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging-centered analyses. She has served public agencies both in the United States and Taiwan.
Born and raised in Taiwan, ShiauYun’s first-generation immigrant experience continues to empower her to navigate and drive her diverse career path, including project management, business analysis, public policy research, program coordination, language interpretation, cultural and language curriculum development, solopreneur-ship, and homemaking extraordinaire. She centers her personal life around her busy family in Olympia, and enjoys losing herself in reading, yoga, gardening, and playing cello.
