HR Lunch & Learn – 2025 State Employee Engagement Survey Results & Trends Over Time
During this session we will share results, highlights, and trend data for the last three years of the annual Washington State Employee Engagement Survey. The engagement survey provides a consistent source of feedback from executive branch employees on 12 topics that comprise overall employee engagement. This information then goes on to influence and shape agency decisions and policy.
About the Speakers:
Spencer Nagley graduated from Washington State University and earned a master’s degree in industrial & organizational (I/O) psychology from Seattle Pacific University. I/O Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior in organizations and the workplace. This field of psychology focuses on deriving principles of individual, group, and organizational behavior and applying this knowledge to the solution of problems at work.
Spencer has a breadth of HR experience from both the private, non-profit, and public sectors. His work history includes tenures with private industry, non-profit healthcare, and public sector employment. For the past 4 years, Spencer has served Washingtonian’s at OFM as a Workforce Research & Policy Analyst leading statewide survey projects including the annual Employee Engagement Survey.
Mariely Norris, MHRM, MSDA, serves as the Workforce Research and Analytics Specialist at the Office of Financial Management, State HR, where she supports the statewide Employee Engagement Survey. Her background includes various roles spanning data analytics, human resources, performance management, strategic planning, operations, and process improvement within both federal and state governments. She specializes in data analytics with a focus on machine learning, optimization, and performance improvement. Mariely is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is passionate about utilizing data to inform strategic decision-making and drive organizational effectiveness.
