Meeting Description

Learn about engaging your teams, supporting higher performance and increasing positive outcomes for your customers and clients by understanding the power of pulling leadership through a Person Centered lens.  Person Centered skills are easy simple and easy to learn, and allows organizations to operationalize a set of practices that build trust and relationship.

We all know being a leader is hard work and being an authentic leader means leading from the inside out, providing the same support to your employees that you expect them to provide for those customers and clients.

By asking the right questions we can better understand employee motivation and build strong relationships. By aligning values across teams and the organization, we can move out of the emotional gridlock that restricts creativity, efficiency and higher performance.

Rick McKinnon is the Learning and Development Administrator at DSHS, where he helps design, create, distribute, learning experiences that spark thought, open minds, and reset expectations about what “workplace training” looks like. He lives in Olympia with his wife (Carolyn), son (Sam), and daughter (Margot). Rick plays old-time banjo and has been on a new adventure with the fiddle. He’s getting better, but his family still appreciates it if he practices when they are not in the house.

Kathy Williams is the Learning and Development Manager at DSHS, designing content and creating structure to bring next gen learning opportunities to our evolving modern workforce.  Kathy lives in Graham with her husband, two nearly grown boys and two huskies, Zeus and Ares.    A full time soccer family with a huge Disney addiction, and in a house full of boys, Kathy finds serenity in gardening and reading.
