Apprenticeship and certificated teachers jobs and salary schedules

Jobs listed  under the “Classified Job and Salary Listing” that have a salary range of “Special” are not paid on the standard progression salary schedules. These classified jobs are either Apprentice, or Certificated Teacher jobs.

Apprentice jobs

Certain Apprentice jobs were adopted by the Personnel Resources Board as part of an Apprentice pilot program.

This program was developed for general government agencies in conjunction with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council in July 2002.

Apprentice jobs are paid on a progressively increasing schedule of wages based on specific percentage of journey-level consistent with skills acquired.

Specific to the program established, standards are available at:

Certificated Teacher - Vancouver School District #37 (VSD #37) jobs

The Certificated Teacher jobs are for all classified employees certificated by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction at:

  • the Washington State Center for Childhood Deafness and Hearing Loss
  • the Washington State School for the Blind

The Vancouver School District #37 (VSD #37) Certificated Teachers advance through the salary ranges at the rate of one step per year.

RCW 72.40.028 provides that salaries of all certificated employees shall be set so as to conform to and be contemporary with salaries paid to other certificated employees of similar background and experience in the Vancouver School District No. 37.
