Documents used for review
In This Section
For allocation reviews
- The employee’s request for a Director’s review
- The employer’s allocation determination
- The document prompting the position review by the employer. Typically, one of the following:
- Position review request form
- Position questionnaire
- Position description form
- Signed and dated supervisor review section or similar statement from the supervisor or management regarding the assignment of work to a position.
- Signed and dated position description form for the relevant time period.
- Relevant job class specifications
- Organizational chart
- Limited number of work examples or other documents relevant to the specified time period.
All documentation should be relevant to the specified time period. The time period is usually the six-month period prior to the date the employee requested a position review from the employer, unless the CBA calls out a 12-month review period.
The Director’s designee or investigator will ultimately determine the relevancy.
For other Director’s reviews
Documents considered for remedial action reviews:
- The employee’s request for Director’s review.
- Documentation of employee’s original start date.
- Time records indicating when the employee exceeded the 1050 hours in a twelve consecutive month period since the original hire date.
NOTE: According to WAC 357-19-450(1), an employee has to work more than 1,050 hours “in any twelve consecutive month period since the original hire date.”
As an example, if the original hire date is October 1, 2012, the first twelve consecutive month period is from October 1, 2012, through September 30, 2013. The next twelve consecutive month period would be from October 1, 2013, through September 30, 2014, and the pattern would continue.
