Interest arbitration awards

Interest arbitration is an impasse process used by the parties when the terms of a new contract are not resolved in bargaining between the employer and the union. Those issues are presented to a neutral third party for resolution on the terms of the contract.

Within the negotiations process, RCW 47.64 and 41.56, and 41.80 for certain employees provides the ability to bring unresolved issues before an arbitrator.
