OFM serves as the liaison between the state and the U.S. Census Bureau and acts as an advocate on census-related issues for Washington. Given all of the challenges associated with 2020 Census data collection, OFM is closely tracking the official release of decennial data and assessments of data quality and accuracy.

Planning for the 2030 Census is underway! The planning process began in 2019. We are now in the Development and Integration Phase, which focuses on ongoing research, testing (including the 2026 Census Test and the 2028 Dress Rehearsal), adjustments based on results of testing, and, lastly, continuing operational planning. Your feedback helps inform an accurate count!
