Public Service Recognition Week
Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) has been set aside for the full first week of May for over 30 years to honor those who serve our nation as federal, state, county, and local government employees. OFM State Human Resources coordinates the Washington state annual celebration and employee awards, to ensure state employees are recognized and honored for their great work and service to the public during the week of May 4-10 this year.
Local PSRW events are organized by state employees for state employees. We are grateful to our sponsors for financial assistance.

We need volunteers to support the Olympia event on Wednesday, May 7.
There are four volunteer roles with timeslots ranging from 2-3 hours. We are also happy to have you volunteer for the entire event! If you are interested, please complete the registration form.
- Lawn/Exhibitor area - This role will ensure you get your steps in for the day! Most of the action happens before and after the event.
- Assist with set-up/ take-down of canopies for Business Resource Groups and Information Booths, carry boxes and other materials between the loading zone and booths, place and take down event signage, and other support as needed during the event.
- Information/Accessibility Booths - This role is great if you prefer to be near the exhibitors and volunteer during the event.
- Check-in exhibitors and volunteers, watch over volunteer personal belongings and event materials, welcome attendees, handout exhibitor/sponsor swag, assist guests with disabilities in locating services, retrieving food, and navigating the event space.
- Hot Dog Line - This role does not involve cooking and does not require a food permit. It is where the action is happening during the event!
- Serving area set-up and clean-up, prepare hot dog boats (condiment packets, napkin, bun), set out and refill serving tables with boats, chips and water, direct attendees through the line, and serve as runner to communicate messages from Lead to Emcee and information booth.
- AV Setup/ Sound Production - This role provides an opportunity to receive mentoring in sound production and emcee skills throughout the event.
- Assist with AV equipment set-up/ take-down, trouble-shoot issues, monitor sound levels, select and play fun/engaging music, and assist with announcements, and staging presenters.
