Supported Employment in State Government (SESG)

The Supported Employment in State Government (SESG) Program, RCW 41.04, was adopted by the Legislature in 1999 and provides paid competitive employment opportunities for individuals with developmental and other significant disabilities in integrated work settings. SESG is employment with customary salary and benefits, for individuals who need support over time, on or off the job, to maintain job performance.

Choice Performance Confirmation program

What is the Choice Performance Confirmation (CPC) program?

Choice Performance Confirmation is a performance management program, designed to:

  • Assist state agencies in engaging and developing their employees
  • Ensure agencies are aligned with standards and best practices before they are able to institute performance as a factor in leave
  • Recognize agencies for the commitment they’re making to becoming an employer of choice

Who is the program for?

The program is for represented or nonrepresented staff of state agencies.

How is the employee survey data used?

Agencies/Institutions

Agencies/Institutions act on their employee survey data to:

  • Improve workforce management practices
  • Improve workplace culture
  • Celebrate what's being done well
  • Help retain and engage a productive workforce

Employer of Choice Committee

The Employer of Choice Committee serves as the state’s HR Employer of Choice advisory and coordinating group. The committee works collaboratively with the HR community, OFM State HR, DES Workforce Support and Development, and agency HR offices to support strategic efforts across state government to become an employer of choice.

Purpose

The committee provides HR leadership in state government’s effort to become an employer of choice. It will provide feedback and input, develop recommendations, and make decisions on employer of choice strategies.
