Elevator Preservation Safety and ADA Upgrades

Environmental Studies Renovation

Funding is provided for a predesign study to evaluate the most practical and cost-effective approaches for renovating the Enviornmental Studies Center. The ECS is structurally suited for intensive science use, however has several envelope, life-safety, ADA and building systems deficiencies that need to be corrected in order to preserve this facility and continue to provide high-quality teaching and learning facilities for environmental studies students.

Electrical Engineering/Computer Science Building

Funding is provided for remaining design and construction of a new building to enable growth and resume student intake in the departments of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The building will consist primarily of teaching labs, research labs and classrooms, and also provide administrative and scholarly activity space. Western Washington University has committed to raising $15 million in private/local funding. This project also includes reappropriation of prior biennia funding.
