Policy Changes
Federal Grant Unanticipated Receipt
Beginning in the 2023-25 biennium, the Office of Insurance Commissioner (OIC) expects the total federal grant awards received to exceed its current General Fund-Federal appropriation by $740,000 and two FTEs. The current appropriation covers all or part of five separate federal grant awards. In addition, because we anticipate receiving grant award increases each year, an additional 5% of the 2023-25 awards, or $273,000, is being requested in order to eliminate the need for unanticipated receipt requests.
