Created under the state constitution as an independent agency of the judicial branch, the 11 member Commission on Judicial Conduct reviews and responds to complaints concerning the ethical conduct and disability of judicial officers, and may impose discipline. The commission also investigates allegations that a judicial officer suffers from a disability requiring retirement. The commission also considers complaints concerning ethics rules for some state officials and employees of the judicial branch of state government.
Agency Mission
The Commission on Judicial Conduct maintains the confidence and integrity of the state judicial system by reviewing complaints alleging judicial branch ethical misconduct and disability, and enforcing the Code of Judicial Conduct.
