Volunteers & Sponsors

State agency sponsors needed 

Are you a state agency that would like to sponsor the DEI Empowerment Conference? We are accepting in-kind sponsorship. The best way to support this work is to approve and encourage your staff to volunteer.  Check out the volunteer opportunities listed below.

State employee volunteer opportunities / in-kind sponsorship opportunities 

Volunteering at the DEI Empowerment Conference offers a unique opportunity to develop valuable skills, gain behind-the-scenes experience, and connect with DEI leaders across the state. Please add your name to our contact list for volunteer opportunities if you are interested in helping with planning or production. We will reach out when we are ready to pull volunteers together for the next task.

Available volunteer positions 

Marketing Lead 

Develop and implement an advertisement strategy for the event. This includes creating templates for agency marketing teams. 

Speaker Selection Committee 

(Open to Statewide DEI Council members, BRG leadership, and HR professionals) 

The committee will evaluate presentation proposals and determine final presenter selection.  

Clock Hours (PDUs, CEUs, CECs) Committee  

Submit Professional Development (PDU), Continuing Education (CEC, CEU), and Clock Hour provider applications, identify presentations, and evaluate conference content to recommend for various professional society credits.  

Accessibility Support 

Provide vendor support for our American Sign Language (ASL) translators and Communication Access Real-Time (CART) captioners and provide coaching support to speakers about making conference content accessible. 

Production Crew & Moderators  

Various roles are needed to support the behind-the-scenes activities and to provide on-camera facilitation. Join us as on-camera talent (Session Moderators) or as off-camera assistants working with Zoom and monitoring chat. For additional information about the production roles see
