Personnel Resources Board Appeals
Under the authority provided in RCW 41.06.170, the Personnel Resources Board (PRB) conducts hearings and makes decisions to resolve state employee appeals.
Unrepresented and non-union represented permanent employees may appeal the following directly to the Board: disciplinary actions including dismissal, suspension, demotion or reduction in base salary; layoff actions; alleged rule violations; or exemption of his/her position. An employee may appeal the following to the Board on exceptions to a Director's review determination: allocations or reallocations, remedial actions, or removal of the employee's name from a layoff list. If you are covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, you should talk to your union representative about your rights under the agreement.
