Typical Work
Lead student employees and food service workers in operation of a remote food service area such as a snack bar counter, ice creamery, or soda fountain;
Direct and participate in the preparation of light lunches, grilled foods, soft drinks, ice cream dishes, and similar fountain/snack bar items;
Maintain quality and portion control and ensure use of standardized recipes and formulae;
Assure the cleaning of food service equipment and work areas; maintain compliance with sanitation and safety regulations;
Inspect food service equipment to determine proper care, use, and operation; report malfunctions;
Maintain security and care of china, silverware, furniture, and related property;
Refrigerate perishable foods and maintain proper storage of other foods and fountain supplies;
Receive cash payments and charge slips from customers; account for receipts at the termination of the work shift;
Participate directly in food preparation and serving;
May prepare reports as necessary;
Perform related duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
Possession of food handler's permit
AND
Two years of experience in food service work, including one year of lead experience, or equivalent education/experience.
