Definition

Patrol and enforce parking regulations, collect parking fees, and direct vehicular traffic.

Typical Work

Patrols campus parking areas on radio equipped vehicles.  Observes parking and traffic patterns and issues citations for parking violation.  May follow through on collections and/or citations; 

Reports traffic and parking conditions and incidents requiring security investigation; 

Appears in court to testify on parking citations; 

Visually checks entering vehicles for valid parking permit; 

Issues daily campus parking permits, collects and receives daily parking fees, and reconciles cash with cash register; 

Directs the flow of campus traffic to appropriate areas; 

Directs visitors to parking areas and office and provides general campus information upon request; 

Perform related duties as required.

Legal Requirement(s)

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification.  It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.

Persons legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, are eligible for employment unless prohibited by other state or federal law.

Desirable Qualifications

Positions typically require possession a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
