Definition

Positions at this level administer, coordinate, and evaluate all aspects of on-site facility use services for events and activities.  Incumbents establish procedures, standards, priorities, and deadlines, have extensive contact with public, faculty, staff, event organizers, contractors and others, review services for compliance with policies, rules, regulations, and ADA compliance, and monitor operations budget.  Incumbents typically supervise lower level staff.

Typical Work

Oversees use of on-site facilities, prepares rental agreements, and develops and maintains procedures for scheduling and coordination with staff, external departments, and users;

Schedules use of on-site facilities for daily, evening, and weekend functions; coordinates and oversees reservations and room assignments; controls issuance of keys and maintains record on key distribution;

Oversees accounting process and reconciles operations budget;

Attends event pre-planning meetings, acts as a resource person to aid in coordination of activities;

Responsible for building security, for approving requests for building storage, setting schedule for opening and closing of buildings, assigning personnel to monitor and secure building at night, and recommending facility maintenance;

May participate in budget development;

May supervise lower level staff.

Desirable Qualifications

Positions typically require four years of college education including course work in public administration, business administration, hotel management, public relations, or park/resource management and two years of related work experience.
