Definition

Assists in administrative, planning, systems, fiscal, social service or management-oriented projects in a State agency. Positions allocated to this series are designed to provide para-professional training in defined occupational fields. Incumbents will receive training in departmental procedures and will be assigned productive tasks and assignments in a specific professional area.

Typical Work

As on-the-job trainee and under immediate supervision, learns to perform technical tasks;

Performs other work as required.

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification. It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.

Desirable Qualifications

Completion of one year at an academically accredited college or university and one year of productive work experience. In specific disciplines, the one year of work experience may be waived.
