Definition
Supervise Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists and other assigned staff and direct the technical operation and training activities of a laboratory.
Distinguishing Characteristics
With delegated authority, interview and recommend selection of applicants, train new employees, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations and recommend disciplinary actions. Under general direction, assist in the administration and direct the technical operation of a laboratory including the planning, development and implementation of training activities.
Typical Work
Plan laboratory schedules and assign priorities according to work load and clinical urgency; initiate corrective action or recommend innovations in work methods of technical staff;
Prepare annual laboratory budget in collaboration with administrator; maintain and monitor budget;
Maintain laboratory inventory and purchase supplies; arrange for the maintenance and repair of equipment;
Train technologists, medical staff, and others;
Organize and participate in research projects, conferences and technical meetings;
Perform the work of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists III;
Perform related duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
Successful completion of an Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist training program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation
AND
Four years of experience in a laboratory performing clinical electroneurodiagnostic tests
Equivalent education/experience.
