Definition
Supervises workers performing various unskilled and semi-skilled manual work in the maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction of buildings, facilities, utility and sewer systems, equipment, and grounds.
Typical Work
Plans and prioritizes work projects; develops work schedules;
Reads plans and blueprints to determine scope of work and materials needed; makes cost estimates; submits project proposals;
Reviews completed projects for satisfactory compliance with design and instruction;
Enforces safety rules and regulations;
Maintains records of work performed; orders supplies, equipment and tools required for projects;
Directs maintenance and repair of equipment;
May coordinate the work of equipment operators and other skilled trades workers who may be assigned to a particular project;
May supervise set up for athletic and other events and assure site is returned to original condition;
Performs duties of Utility Worker 3;
Performs other duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
Two years of full-time experience as a Utility Worker 2 or equivalent
one year of full-time experience as a Utility Worker 3 or equivalent education/experience.
AND
one year of full-time experience as a Utility Worker 3 or equivalent education/experience.
