Definition

Lead painters and others to perform journey-level painting and related work.

Typical Work

Regularly assign, instruct and check the work of others; assist in selection, evaluation and discipline of others;  

Assure adherence to safety rules and precautions by assigned personnel;  

Prepare preliminary cost estimates for painting and finishing work;  

Develop methods and procedures to be followed by assigned personnel;  

Perform the duties of Painter;  

May perform work in other trades;  

Perform related duties as required.

Legal Requirement(s)

There may be instances where individual positions must have additional licenses or certification.  It is the employer’s responsibility to ensure the appropriate licenses/certifications are obtained for each position.

Persons legally authorized to work in the U.S. under federal law, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients, are eligible for employment unless prohibited by other state or federal law.

Desirable Qualifications

One year of full-time experience as a journey painter or equivalent trade skill.  May require valid state of Washington driver's license.  

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all desirable qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
