Definition
Perform semi-skilled painting work of graduated complexity in the institution's building, maintenance and alterations program in an on-the-job apprentice program.

Apprentice class of series.
Typical Work
Performs various painting and related duties;
Obtains, prepares and delivers materials to the job site and assists in application;
Clean up and maintain shop areas, work sites and storage areas;
Completes on-the-job and related academic painter trades training program requirements;
Performs related duties and functions as specified in approved apprentice training programs;
Drives, loads and unloads service vehicles;
Performs related duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
AND
Meets qualification standards approved by Washington State Apprenticeship Council.
May require valid state of Washington driver's license.
