ELECTRICIAN TRADE TRAINEE
Definition
Distinguishing Characteristics
Typical Work
Under guidance of a journey level worker, perform various maintenance and alteration duties, with special emphasis on those duties required to complete the specific on-the-job electrician trades training program;
Obtain, prepare, and deliver materials to the job site and assist in assembly and installation;
Clean up and maintain shop areas, work sites, and storage areas;
Complete on-the-job electrician trades training program requirements;
Complete related academic training which will consist of designated trades school and/or correspondence courses as available and applicable to the electrician journey class;
Perform related duties and functions as specified in approved trades training program.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of electrical trade; electrical codes; safety precautions.
Ability to: work from blueprints, plans, and sketches; estimate materials and time needed to complete jobs; use hand and power tools.
