April 20, 2022

Public service recognition week logo, May 1-7, 2022

The first week of May is when we celebrate public employees for their great work and service to the public.

While there will be no in-person, multi-agency event in Olympia this year, there will be in-person events in Spokane and the Tri-Cities. OFM is also offering several online presentations on state employee benefits and business resource groups, and it will hold these events in partnership with the Seattle Mariners and Tacoma Rainiers.

You can find details for all these events at ofm.wa.gov/psrw

Seattle Mariners game on May 7

The Seattle Mariners: State employees are invited to grab discount tickets for the game on Saturday, May 7, at 6 p.m. versus the Tampa Bay Rays. The Mariners will also celebrate Armed Forces Day that day and the entertainment will include fireworks and a military fly-over.

Join the Tacoma Rainiers and support the Washington State Combined Fund Drive on May 14, July 29, and August 14. A portion of each ticket will go directly toward the Combined Fund Drive. Each ticket includes a reserved seat and a ballpark meal.

Spokane and Tri-Cities events

Spokane celebrations: May 4 - Join us for a drive-through sack lunch event between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at one of two locations and pick up a sub-sandwich lunch to go. In partnership with Fairchild Airforce Base and the Military Department.

Tri-Cities celebration: May 12 - Join us 5:30-7:30 p.m. as we celebrate with our partner federal agencies and the City of Richland at the Gesa Carousel of Dreams in Kennewick for hamburgers, hotdogs and recognition.

Online state employee benefits presentations

State employees can view online presentations during the week, to learn more about wellness, retirement and health benefits. There's also a chance to hear about the statewide Business Resource Groups (BRGs) and the Interagency Committee of State Employed Women (ICSEW). Use the links in the table below to register:
