In 2019, the Washington Traffic Safety Commission awarded OFM’s Forecasting and Research Division with a grant to manage the Washington State Traffic Records Integration Program (TRIP).
The Traffic Records Integration Program (TRIP) is an effort to develop and maintain a data repository for public health and safety research to further the goals of the Vision Zero 2030 to achieve zero fatalities or serious injuries on our roads.
Learn about what TRIP does to integrate data from multiple state sources to identify trends in fatalities and serious injuries from traffic collisions.
OFM Forecasting and Research is uniquely positioned as a source for data, research, and statistical analyses to inform decisions by the Governor, the legislature, other state agencies, research communities, and the public.
The Medical Assistance Expenditure Forecast helps the state estimate medical services provided through Medicaid (Apple Health). To create the forecast, information is provided by the Caseload Forecast Council and OFM’s official accounting system.
The forecast is used by both the governor and the Legislature to inform the budget for Health Care Authority. The forecast is also used for financial analyses and tracking expenditures.
The forecast is produced in February and October each year.
