Below are a few of the meetings and trainings provided by the Classification and Compensation Team in State Human Resources.

C&C Specialist Roundtable Meetings

Overview: The Roundtable meetings are scheduled on a quarterly basis to disseminate timely information about enterprise classification, compensation issues or changes. Meetings are hosted by the Enterprise Classification and Compensation team within the State Human Resources Division at the Office of Financial Management.

This forum is open to human resource professionals only within state agencies and higher education institutions.

Notification of scheduled meetings is sent via the Classification Team listserv. To subscribe to the listserv, please email classandcomp@ofm.wa.gov.

Introduction to Position Allocation Training

Overview: This introductory training is designed to support human resource professionals in understanding how to assign positions to the appropriate job classifications within the Washington General Service. It provides a foundational overview of the position allocation process, covering key documentation requirements and introducing tools and best practices used across the enterprise to promote consistency, accuracy, and fairness in classification decisions. Registration will open approximately three weeks prior to the training dates listed below.

  • June 9th, 10:00am - 3:30pm
  • October 13th, 10:00am - 3:30pm

 

EMS Training

Overview: This training equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to manage your agency’s exempt classes. Participants will gain insight into writing an Exempt Management Position Description and evaluating the position using the EMS tools and resources available. Registration will open approximately three weeks prior to the training dates listed below.

IT Professional Structure Evaluation Training

Overview: Statute (WAC 357-13-058 (3)) driven training of the Information Technology Position Evaluation Process to ensure consistent and credible position evaluations within the IT Professional Structure. Training participants are those individuals that have been designated by their organization to be a member of their ITPS Evaluation Committee. Only those individuals who have successfully completed this training may participate in an organization’s ITPS Evaluation Committee.
