PSLF Employer Guidance

Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) is a federal program that forgives remaining Direct student loan balance for public service workers after 120 qualifying monthly payments (or about 10 years) while working full time for eligible employers, such as state agencies, higher education institutions, and school districts.

OFM State HR recently released updated guidance detailing the amended PSLF program requirements for state agencies following the passage of House Bill 1950, which went into effect on June 6, 2024. This guidance is available on OFM’s PSLF webpage.
