Call for presentations for the upcoming 2023 DEI Empowerment Conference in June
The 2023 Washington State DEI Empowerment Conference (formerly the Washington State DEI Summit) will be held Wednesdays in June (June 7, 14, 21, 28), with the theme "Bridging Gaps and Leaning into Action". The conference will be virtual over Zoom, and will be free and open to all state employees. Last year’s event drew over 4,700 attendees, with between 1,500 and 2,900 attending each session.
We’re looking for presenters
Do you have a skill, background, knowledge, or expertise relevant to diversity, equity, inclusion/belonging, or anti-racism? We are now accepting submissions for presentations, and we especially encourage speakers with lived expertise in their chosen topic to submit proposals. We seek to highlight a diverse range of voices and perspectives at this conference.
Presenters need to provide a separate application for each 90-minute presentation you want to present for the conference. Each application must include a 1-2 page proposal (a description of the content you intend to cover) document, and a short personal bio for each presenter that will facilitate this content. Read more about what you 'll need to provide.
Submit your presentation idea online by Sunday, March 12.
Presenter information sessions
Join us for a live online information session if you have questions or would like to know more about being a presenter at the conference:
All sessions will include ASL interpretation. If' you're unable to attend, we will provide a recording of the first session.
