June 2021 Lunch and Learn - Disruptive Behavior
Background:
Straight-forward or disrespectful? Fun or inappropriate? Tough or bully? Without clear guidance, it can be hard to figure out where to draw the line. When do you call out certain behaviors and when do accept them as a part of the workplace culture? How do you identify behaviors that compromise safety – both physical and emotional? Disruptive behaviors seed hostile work environments, leading to team dysfunction and employee dissatisfaction and disengagement. As hostility and toxicity grows, productivity and effectiveness declines. Inappropriate, disrespectful and bullying behaviors threaten the well-being of all employees and of the workplace. At this Lunch and Learn session, you will 1) learn to identify disruptive behaviors 2) learn about the continuum of disruptive behaviors 3) discuss the impact of these behaviors on physical and emotional safety 4) identify ways to address disruptive behaviors and reduce the risk to workplace safety and employee well-being.
