Shift Premium Pay

What is shift premium pay?

Shift premium is additional pay provided for working split shifts or evening and night shifts or a split shift.

Who is eligible to receive shift premium pay?

Employees who have the majority of their scheduled work hours between 6 pm and 6 am or who have a work shift that is split with a minimum of four intervening hours in which they do not work are eligible. Employees may waive shift premium pay.

Assignment Pay

What is Assignment Pay (AP)?

Assignment Pay (AP) is a premium added to base salary to recognize specialized skills, assigned duties, and/or unique circumstances that exceed the ordinary. Assignment pay is intended to be used only as long as the skills, duties or circumstances it is based on are in effect.

Who is eligible for assignment pay?

Employees in those positions identified as requiring the above mentioned specialized skills are eligible to receive AP. The employer determines the qualifying positions.

What is a general wage adjustment? 

A general wage adjustment is a pay adjustment given to state employees.

Who is eligible?

The state Legislature ultimately determines which state employers are eligible to receive the General Wage Adjustment.
