Apprenticeship Meeting Series

The Apprenticeship Meeting Series is a committee of state agency human resources managers whose purpose is to reduce barriers to employment in state government by advancing the number of apprenticeship programs and other formal on-the-job training programs within Washington state agencies (ESSB 5600, RCW 49.04.250). The committee will look at other public entities work study programs that enable high school graduates to achieve entry-level employment and placement in apprenticeship programs as potential apprenticeship pathways are considered and developed.

Purpose

Collaborate with state agency, local government, higher education institutions, and industry experts to:

  • Learn about existing apprenticeship and on-the-job-training programs.
  • Learn about the state’s classification system and how it supports apprenticeship programs.
  • Learn how to create apprenticeship and on-the-job-training programs.
  • Explore internship programs.
